How to choose the RIGHT landscape water feature?

4 Landscape Water Feature Design Conserderations

1. Look

Take a step back and visualize your landscape. Do you gravitate toward traditional english garden, modern or contemporary, asian inspired? Your personal style will dictate the type of landscape water feature you are looking for.

2. Maintenance

How much maintenance are you willing to invest into a water feature? Water features vary in routine maintenance; for instance, bubblers are the lowest form of maintenance, while waterfalls cascading into a pond are the highest. Even though you may want the look of a waterfall/pond water feature, it's very important to consider the long-term maintenance.

3. Sound

Another important consideration is the level of sound you desire. Some water features let off quite a bit of sound, while others omit a softer sound. If you live in a noisy neighborhood perhaps a louder water feature will help drown out the sound of passing vehicles. If you live in a country setting perhaps you want a light sound to blend with nature.

4. Size

The size of your landscape will dictate the size of your water feature. If you have a small landscape chances are you will go with a small water feature. If you have a larger landscape, we recommend go with a larger water feature. Oversized or undersized water features look very odd if not sized correctly with the square footage of your landscape.
