The homeowners envisioned a welcoming and functional outdoor space that would serve as a daily retreat for their young child and dog. Their primary goal was to create a clean, open lawn area in the backyard, offering a safe and enjoyable play space. To complement this, we installed durable pathways and natural features that seamlessly integrated into the surrounding landscape, promoting both beauty and practicality. A new paver patio was added in the backyard, offering a versatile area for barbecuing and outdoor family time, while also giving their little one a safe, structured surface to play on. Raised garden beds were incorporated into the design to support the family’s interest in gardening and encourage hands-on outdoor activities. To prioritize functionality, sod was installed exclusively in the backyard, where the family spends the majority of their time. The front yard and entry received practical, low-maintenance landscaping to create an inviting entrance, including plantings that enhance curb appeal and unify the space visually. Mulch was applied in both the front and back planting areas, tying everything together with a clean, cohesive look while helping with moisture retention and weed suppression. Special attention was paid to drainage throughout the site to ensure long-term safety and usability. Overall, the finished landscape delivers a family-centric environment that balances aesthetics with practicality—low-maintenance, safe, and ready to grow alongside the family’s needs.
Our client desired a refreshed look to his space, and we perfected a landscape design to enhance curb appeal and functionality. We added a stunning bluestone stepstone path was added for side access to the backyard, complemented by new plantings that tied everything together.
Our clients wanted to minimize the lawn in their front yard and define the entry. Their home is in a rural-urban area, so they don't have a typical sidewalk and street parking which helps signal where an entry to a home lies. We added the definition to the front by adding a paver entry with a striking patio. To minimize the lawn space we added a large planting, riverrock, and bark dust to the front yard.
